About 7pm yesterday (6 September) I heard the unmistakeable sound of a Merlin..
I glanced out of the window – and just caught a glimpse of what I thought was a Hurricane heading west – towards Bristol.
Today at work (in Swindon), I again heard a Merlin – a quick dash to the window – and I saw a Hurricane heading south-east.
They wouldn’t believe me in the office when I said I recognised the sound…
On the way home, I stopped for some provisions – and again heard an engine noise – and I THINK I saw it again………….. this time heading south-west.
Any details anyone ???

PS – I live in Malmesbury – 15 miles from Swindon, 5 miles from Kemble, 10 miles from Lyneham

Ken, when I was walking home from work at 5pm yesterday, I saw a Mustang flying over Swindon, heading in the Fairford direction. No idea what’s going on?
I suppose it could have been a Mustang that I saw – it was fairly high, I only glimpsed it for a few moments – and I am getting old !!!
Definitely a Merlin-engined, straight-winged type though…..
My sighting was at 15:15 at work and 16:15 outside Asda in west Swindon.
