Anyone noticed the very bumpy cowling on top? Nothing like the smooth lines we are used to?

Great news she is staying here. 3 Hurricanes in one place, very nice and if PT pops over they could do a four ship, the most I have seen was four at Duxford way back

Surprised this news has not been reported elsewhere. P3717 now resident at Old Warden.
Waiting for news of its first airshow appearance. Question is do we have enough qualified Hurricane display pilots ?

Any photos available of P3717 first flight ? Hope all went well, what next for the aircraft’s flight test schedule. How many hours does a new restoration like this have to have before it is likely to be cleared for public display ?

BR601 is already confirmed to be at Oshkosh this summer. I recall its propeller made some contact with the ground when landing at Goodwood back in early September, but was quickly mended. (Collings also now has Spitfire XVI TE356, to very likely eventually get overhauled to fly again.)

As a US-based Hurricane enthusiast, it is great to hear that P3717 will eventually be heading to the US (news to me!)…makes up for having “lost” N33TF (now G-CHTK) a few years back. The US-based flying population will be back up to three again (four if including the Canadian-based example).

yes, I was aware BR 601 was headed this way,, the hurricane caught me by surprise though. I look forward to both. I thought 601 would be here already, heard rumors that it had a small accident though, don’t know the truth behind that.

There was an ‘incident’. But 601 has flown since

It going to Collings would be a treat for me, as I am only an hr. away,, heard they were getting a spitfire too, if they don’t already have it.

That will be Spitfire BR601. You are in for a treat when they both make their way over the pond

I thought I read somewhere that the “Turweston” Hurricane was due to go to the USA. Could be wrong as usual.

Supposedly to the Collings Foundation so I read in several magazines.

Anyway, great to hear she has finally taken to the air again!

Cheers

Paul

So good to see another Hurricane airborne, can never have enough ‘urricanes (hope it stays in the UK, but would no doubt go down well with our american cousins who can marvel at a really beautifully designed aeroplane 🙂 )

Thanks very much.
I was very much looking forward to returning with a friend for a ‘sit in’ in the Hurricane, sadly now not to be.
Nice to see this Hurricane in the air though.
