Don’t get your knickers in a twist, though, as she’s staying in the UK:

A perfect outcome indeed.
This gentleman is a shining example, of a caretaker of a piece of history. Very honourable.

I guess we’ll find out sooner or later. Pity she’s not still at Kidlington (I believe that was very short lived, maybe even just a temporary stopover), but there aren’t many better places for her than OW.

Thought R4118 might be on its way on Saturday morning, when I saw it take off. A few passes over the village, as its pilots often did on flight tests, then it hung around in the haze to the west while it waited for a light aircraft, perhaps a Cessna Skyhawk, to follow it up. They both did a slow run over the runway and left. Normally this meant it was off to some air show, but this time it was for good.
Pleased it’s staying in Britain, and even more that it will be at Old Warden, but still sorry to see it go.
So is she owned by Shuttleworth, or with a private owner based at Old Warden?

This Hurricane is to be based at Old Warden and indeed has already taken up residence. Great news.
Is this replacing the Fieseler Storch……?

And performed beautifully today as a trio with the Sea Hurricane and the Seafire 17. Two Mk 1 Hurricanes together – lovely!
