Hurricane special at RIAT 2015

Unfortunately that wasn’t the case on Saturday. However, I was pleased to see a Hurricane (and two spitfires!) in the static!

Why do people see it as a ‘waste’ to have a hurricane in static when there are already 5 flying? Surely 5 in the air and 1 on the ground that people can see up close it better than 6 in the air that people can only see from a distance? Each to their own I guess but I thought it was great to see the Hurricane and Spitfire together in the static.

All six were in the static and visible up close on Friday at least.

Because people love multiples. 4 hurricanes flying looks broadly similar to 5 but with aviation it seems an obsession with quantity is in air!

Did seem a waste having the HAC Hurricane static but there are obviously still people unaware that the Poles fought in the BoB

So is six going to be a record at Biggin Hill in August?

Plus a replica/mockup in the Vintage Village. Shame they couldn’t all have been put together on the ground.

But why was G-HURI static? Seems a wasted opportunity.
