Is there any easy way to find out which Squadrons with Hurricanes were stationed in the North of England and Central Scotland on 10th May 1941? This is tied in with an earlier thread I had started about the Hess flight. The Duke of Hamilton had said in an interview after the war that Hurricanes were sent up to intercept it (The Bf 110) as well as the Defiants. It seems to me that the easiest way to verify this would be to identify the Squadrons and then go up to the National Archive and go through the F540s for each on that date. I would imagine it would be anywhere in a line North of Newcastle and say South of Leuchars.

Dave – Thanks and yes I am the original poster. I thought I had my settings to show any replies but I hadn’t, so I missed this!!! Thank you for drawing it to my attention.:D
Chris – Thanks also for this as I intend to dig through the F540s for any relevant Squadron.

You could go through Jefford or similar
This post suggests 245 Squadron, which was based at Aldergrove
