I received my signed copy at the weekend. Its a superb book, and all credit to Gordon.

I have both of the Spitfire Survivors books too, and what is very apparent is how few Hurricanes there are in comparison. I knew there were fewer flyers, but there are significantly fewer in any condition!

What happened to that Hurricane frame that was auctioned for around £8k a few years ago?

Sulk over!

Just had a very nice letter from Natalie at Grub Street promising me a copy.

I only had the chance to speed read it. Does it cover the MSFU Hurricane that is being built?

Mine came just now, only had a quick look so far but really chuffed with it, by what I’ve seen.

It lists all surviving Hurricanes – so by definition, that includes all those that may be rebuilt to fly in the future.

Very good indeed.

Without having gone through the book properly (yet), it lists all the main ones under restoration at the moment. There are probably others that I haven’t seen yet.

Does the book list any future possible rebuilds to fly or have we reached that now?

Amazon tend to post/deliver pre-ordered items a couple of days before general release, although nowadays it looks as though P/O stuff gets delivered specially the day before – I’ve come home twice now to find Amazon envelopes on the doormat on a Sunday afternoon!

I knew ‘one of them’ was definately Ed Russell’s US-X….. but was confused by the 2 x Hurricanes in the picture 🙂

Got to be ‘kin huge mirror 😮

It’s a series of mirror panels – you can see the mirrored Hurricane looks slightly disjointed about the top of the fuselage 😉

Never noticed the mirror, but going by the “X” and the colour scheme, this is Ed Russell’s flyer.

Got to be ‘kin huge mirror 😮 as you can just see the ‘Little Willy’ cartoon under the cockpit of the ‘nearest’ Hurricane meaning it has to be a reflection……

Which one though….. 😉

My eyes may be decieving me, or there’s a damn great mirror on the wall next to it, but that photo shows 2 x Hurricanes  and the one in the background seems to have a ‘X’ code letter on it which would indicate the ‘flyer’ (Geoffrey Page’s US-X codes) that is now with Ed Russell.

So what Hurricane is this….??????

I’m pretty sure this example now resides with Ed Russell, along with his Bf109E and Spitfire IX.

Thats why i am asking you all to help me. So who owns/operates G-HURI now?

As Glenn mentioned way down this thread, G-HURI is now owned and operated by the Historic Aircraft Collection.
