Hurricane V7233 LV-K

V7233 flown by the late John Reynolds **** (C o c k) was shot down near Portland Bill on the 11th of August 1940.

Various items from the aircraft were recovered (in the 1983?). The pilot was given mementoes and rest of the remains were put on display.

BUT – I can find no current information on the remains of V7233 – does anyone know if they do exist?

Thanks, Tangmere1940. An answer almost before I had finished typing!

I will look out for the programme.

That was John C O C K…..the name got filtered out!

Most of the wreckage from the 1980’s recovery were dispersed to the four winds, I fear.

However, other items were recovered by Gareth Jones and team last year and due imminently to be shown as part of BBC1’s “Dig 1940” series.
