Which aircraft were used or did they use a lot of replicas?

the make up and hair styles were also not totally accurate, but then who really cares? These productions are for drama and not documentary.

I bet they’ve researched every other detail; but an aeroplane is just an aeroplane, who’ll know the difference!!

Ah yes, I nearly forgot, the puzzling sight of the Lancaster in 1939.
A better historic aviation adviser might be needed methinks…anyone interested?

And the RAF chap that was killed in last week’s episode and the implication that he was a pilot despite his uniform of a non aircrew JNCO.

I really like Home Fires, and to see all those Hurricanes…even if half were replicas, was fantastic, I also believe I spotted at Spit, in Green and Grey livery, which was interesting, looked like a Mk IX

The Hurricane i saw was the Biggin Hill aircraft that is marked up as Pete Brothers GZ-L of 32 Squadron. There were a couple of fibreglass replicas on the airfield as well.
