HUY-AMS-NRT-AMS-HUY on KLM

Just back from a business trip to Japan; here’s my flight report:

Flight 1

HUY-AMS KLMC F70 PH-KZK DEP 1030 ARR 1215

First leg of trip; fairly uneventful. Flight was almost full which surpised me considering this was Humberside and the second flight of the day.

Flight 2

AMS-NRT KLM B777 PH-BQD DEP 1430 ARR 0820

My second trip on a KLM B777; they alternate 777/744 each day on this route. I usually go for 747 when possible but KLM’s 777 economy service is better; seatback IFE(70+films and games system) and cabin seems more spacious as only 3-3-3 seating. I can usually get a bulkhead seat with extra legroom. Flight was full bar @3 seats and service efficient; food seems to have improved since last l/h KLM trip.

Flight 3

NRT-AMS KLM B777 PH-BQD DEP 1130 ARR 1520

About 40 mins delay due to late inbound flight; this flight was great as the plane was only half full. I had 2 seats to myself(many had 3). 2 proper meals which again were better than last year. Only disappointment was getting the same a/c; I’ve now made 3 trips on KLM B777s and got the same a/c every time..??

Flight 4

AMS-HUY KLMC F70 PH-KZG DEP 2025 ARR 2010

Last flight was almost full; unfortunately got the worst row possible(just in front of overwing exit so zero legroom). Also connection was awful; having to wait 5 hours is not great even at Schiphol. I went up to the terrace though and spotted a KQ 777 and MP 767 in new colours.

Overall a good trip; I went to Haneda and Narita airports and took alot of photos. ANA/JAL use B777-300s and 747-400s like buses there..
