I am going to Warsaw next week for 5 days and would love to see some Aviation things while i am there.
I have also considered going to one of the Concentration camps but feel this maybe a little to much for me even though i want to pay my respects.

Plan A was for the spring (April-ish)
However, there’s now a Plan B, which involves the August Bank Holiday weekend, catching Radom Airshow (which was cracking last time it was held, in 2003)
Any thoughts?
August would suit me better, spring maybe too close to the March holiday, I was also hoping to get to Malta for the Merlins over Malta weekend as well.

Flights for next spring are cheap at the moment, though I can’t get any prices past March 31.
What month do you think the trip will be organised for ?

It will be the official uniform – is the world ready for your knees Ian?
It’s just an upward progression from the feet, and if the world can tolerate you legs then mine wouldn’t be a problem.

I’d jump at the chance as well, but may be in Tanzania at that time.
If Robbo goes, will we all have to wear shorts ?

Aviation-wise, the aircraft museum in Kraków is absolutely excellent and has a collection which ranks amongst the best. The city is beautiful (and great fun!) as well, and Auschwitz isn’t too far away either – the latter definately make you feel terrible for some time to come.

I don’t think anyone is ever ‘ready’ to go and see the camps. I visited Bergen-Belsen two years ago without planning to do so. Just stumbled across it while driving through Germany. I’m very glad I went though, as it was one of the most humbling experiences of my life. We all need that from time to time. I wouldn’t be so pretentious as to say it’s a life changing experience, but it certainly does alter your outlook and gives some perspective to the everyday stuff somewhat; what seems important today pales into relative insignificance after you’ve visited a camp. Go and do it.
Thanks Steve i am giving it serious thought,I have not set a plan of what to see or where to go as such, But part of me feels compelled to visit and pay Tribute at a camp the rest of me is not so sure.
I hope to post some photo’s of my visit on here when i return and if i love Poland i would love to go back there again next year.

Nice new avatar Mike.
Was EVERYONE bookshopping while the forum was down???
Have a nice trip DuxHwk. I’ve never been to Poland, but I’d like to make the journey with one of Mike J’s aviation tour groups. When’s the next one, Mike?
