Lovely here.
Dozens of historics overhead everyday 🙂
Nearly all of them F15s (Well there’s one in the museum at DX now so they must qualify)
Moggy
Pistons is better. Spitfires is best.

hm, it’s terrible in Lincoln too….. i mean all we get is the odd spitfire, hurricane, the lanc, tornado, chipmunk, vc-10, sentry, jetstream, f16, mirage…………….. i won’t go on 😉
Aviation enthusiasts really should live within 5 miles of an airfield for their own health if anything! 😉
best regards, steve

We get Flybe, BA, BMIbaby and the odd fat Albert.

I only see the odd contrail, occasional police helicopter, and Janie. Oh, the old days. School playground, A10’s. Run around, F111’s. Blackbirds one day, Phantoms the next. I hate jets.
Chris, Leah, Happy New Year.

Moan moan moan!
I get the occasional Chinook, a rare glimpse of a Navy Lynx, fair-weather spam, and the bloke up the roads racing pigeons!
Sometimes I would kill for the occasional mundane fixed wing exciter! Y’don’t know yer born, you lot!!!
Flood.

Personally, I find it difficult to chose between a P-51 or a Griffon-engined Spitfire as arguably the best sounding and looking aircraft. They’re both beasts. Then there’s always the Sea Fury …….! Either way, I’m just very grateful to the people who keep them flying for the likes of me to dribble over. Living where I do, daily aviation occurrences are limited to Sikorsky S-76s and Fokker 50s, so I tend to make the most of warbird events, when I can get to them. Nothing quite like 6 or 7 P-51s in a scramble at Duxford to warm the cockles of the heart!!:)
Like me then. My aviation scene is pretty limited. I’ve just about had my fill of PA28s & 34s, C130s, VC10s, Tristars and if I’m lucky maybe a C17 or one of RAF Benson’s Merlin Helicopters. I need variety, preferably big piston engined machinery.

I’ll ask him!! At one point BBD was the desktop wallpaper on his PC, but I’ve replaced it witha real aeroplane – G-ASFK!! You’ll have to look it up! Where did you learn to fly and in what?

Thank you. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with the Auster, I just don’t like it, hehe.
And i believe you son needs an education in P-51’s, hehehe…. na, each to their own.

Not so much weird as the method of operating the trim adjustment varied from on model to another.
The Auster has sufficient power for simple aerobatic manouvers with two on board so don’t knock the old girl.
Having seen what can be done with them by a reasonably competent pilot I stand by my previous statement about its landing and take off ability.

Map… the object used to hit me round the head when I get lost.
David, I haven’t flown an Auster but have a friend who has and he got scared in it, having said that we usually fly a Super Cub.

I mean by not having people shooting at you! LOL. Austers didn’t have an easy time of it over Normandy – I mean in being able to fly the bloody thing straight and level without somebody shooting at you when you have no power to escape!
But I know what you think I meant, and yes, I should have phrased it better. Nothing lucky about ‘look but don’t touch’ – I don’t envy you one bit!!!
