Just received a request from a video producer to use one of my pictures on a the cover of a DVD called “Soviet Airliners in the 21st Century”. It’s an approach shot of a Balkan Tu-154 I posted on here last September.
I get a copy of the DVD and a tenner to boot. Yippee !:D

Congrats’! I’ve found out one thing. Find out what the needs of your “customer” is. You can have the best picture in the world. The magazine I’ve sold to would accept “normal” pictures – if you had a story. If you send a 20 x 30 cm, AND you had a story – fine, maybe even front page. So I had to write feature stories (and put some more pics. in!) That anybody can make a living out of it is beyond me!

Ive also had a guy express an interest in one of 2 of my photos lately. Actually a pic of his plane. He wanted me to get a few prints done on the pictures, and in return i get a free flight from him in a Piper PA-23. 🙂 Granted not as good news as Allen, but its a start! 😀

Nice shot, I bet it became very warm a few seconds after it was taken??
I have always had a few published, mainly due to a small airshow here in a few months:D . They have started putting up the exhibition area, always a welcome singn that we will get something but bizjets in soon!

Funnily enough, when I was in LA in 2002, Mrs Ren was making a film about former LA porn stars and their sexual health issues. I was asked to attend a porn shoot (for technical reasons). Very interesting work if you can get it. Naturally I was somewhat preoccupied with the production values, lighting and cameras etc.
Needless to say I was given some DVD samples to take away and study.;)
