Just booked last minute Eurodisney for the family for Easter. Flying Air France on a 146-300 although I think it’s actually a Flybe aircraft operating the route from BHX.
Has anybody flown on this type?, How do you rate them. It will be a change from the usual Wide bodies I fly on!!!! 😉

NP 🙂It would seem Flybe have had to agree to not washing their planes in Frog air colour scheme.
Perhaps Frog Air don;t wnat Flybe to outshine them

There’s an exhaust port on the starboard side of the fuselage just under the tail.EDIT: you can just make it out in your second photo Allen, notice the hole with the blackening around it, just above the registration on the right side of the fuselage.
I thought that must be it, cheers Sandy. You can see it more clearly in this shot…

no no no
Thasts not what is meant. The mian engines, although they provide poweerr are not called APUs’
APU stands for “Auxilliary Power Unit” A main engine is not auxilliary is it.
Typically an apu is a small jet engine (simplified explination matt) and does not provide any thrust.
Ian/wysiwyg is merely joking that the AVRO RJ/BAe 146 has no thrust power to speak off.

What surpsies me sometimes isn that the Avro Rj’s sometimes have their elevators up and the ailerons unbalanced. Why is that? I saw it many times at SNBA’s ARJ’s.

I snapped this FlyBe 146-300 at Glasgow yesterday, Unusual to see one in AF colours up here. Isn’t it looking a wee bit dirty

Maybe they should power it with hydrazine? 😀

I’ve flown on a several 146’s, mainly 200’s. Yes it’s a little tiny inside, but we’re not talking long haul flights here. It’s a unique aircraft and therefore offers a unique flying experience. My advice Cheesebag is to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds.
I know most of the flyers here give the 146 family a bit of a slagging, but from a passengers point of view it makes a change from the usual boring perfection of the major planes.
Have fun !
