There used to be a Russian sub moored at Folkestone but I think has since been broken up.
For unusual how about a T34 in the Old Kent Road?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bermondsey_Tank.jpg

Every so often it gets repainted by the locals. It was once pink and photographed adorned with scantily clad young ladies. Then it was painted like a large cigarette.

Such a shame πŸ™ This is how I remember it http://www.flickr.com/photos/ianoak/86430632/

Its not my picture by the way but I there are a few similar pics in my parents albums some where πŸ™‚

This tank is on my lottery winning shopping list.

Sorry for thread drift.

Nope, it’s the same one. She used to be moored by the Thames Barrier too and I visited her when she was open to the public.

I wouldn’t have liked to serve on one of these Foxtrot class submarines. I seem to remember that the crew dining-area was in the diesel engine compartment; the three table tops were fixed to the tops of the (three) diesel engines with padded benches either side! I’m guessing it would have been quite warm! πŸ˜€

Yes, thats the same sub I photographed in Strood. From the news article I linked to:

“She came from Russia in 1994, following decommission, and was moored in London for a while, before moving to Folkestone, which is where we found her.

If that one is a fake (and I suspect it is due to the size) I can guarentee that this one is real.

It’s moored not far from where I live and one evening whilst waiting for southeastern to sort out train problems I took some photos.

This is a bit about the sub -> http://www.thisiskent.co.uk/Residents-River-Medway-1-Soviet-Submarine/story-16420665-detail/story.html

I think photoshop ’cause nobody’s looking at it. I’m equally sure it would be soo common that they don’t care.

It’s the latest design of windsurfurs board, seen at “Sunny Hunny” as we call it. It was doing it’s trial runs, but it’s so large it takes 6 to hold the sail. Rumour has it, it will be included in the next Olympics if the trials go to plan, honest, now would I tell Porkies?.:D
