I know this is not historic but…

There was a guy advertising half-scale Spitfire models a few years ago. Dunno what happened to him, but there was a picture of him on www.spitfire.org with one of these beasts in the garden – it nearly filled it!

(I want one! :D)

Has anyone seen that big Victor model that often takes part in the Brunty Events ?.

It looks very nice and makes a good noise as well 🙂

There was also a big-scale Lanc (about 1/4 scale) a couple of years ago. I’m pretty sure that one bit the dust.. 🙁

We’ve had a large and very impressive R/C C130 flying at North Weald recently – complete with R/C tank inside!

I know the large jets can cost up to £20,000 to build – by comparison the Rallye MS880B we had as our first group aircraft cost £15,000 and the Grumman AA5A which followed cost £17,000.

We asked the model flyers at NW about the risks. He said that in the boot of his car was a black plastic bin bag and a dustpan and brush. If you couldn’t bear to see your pride and joy in the black plastic bag – don’t fly it!

I’ve started trying to get some bits for it – got the spade grip last week from Bruce (ta!) and I’m trying to get a few instruments, too, just so I’m doing something with it!!

is that the one that was built on Discovery home and leisure ?they did a series of programs and you can buy it on video no i think

Agree that it would look good at airshows but it would look better in my back garden! (and that’s coming from a female 😮 yep women can love planes too you know! 🙂
