I have found a mention, in W&R3 (1968), of the last surviving Seamew AS.1, XE180, probably no longer being at Short Bros apprentice school, Sydenham, Northern Ireland.
Unfortunately there is also a note that Firebrand EK768 had gone from the fire section at Sydenham. Why did nobody have a thought for future generations…?

More along the same lines to be found here (though it presumably helps to have the japanese alphabet loaded on your computer) ๐Ÿ™‚

How about the ‘Beardmore inflexible’ (I think this aircraft ‘survives’ in the form of a single (massive ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ) wheel at the Midland Air Museum!

Are there really people trying to get in to the Warbird scene in one of these?

I’m afraid not, as far as I know there are none left, unless somebody has one well hidden somewhere. I have got to say I quite like them ๐Ÿ˜ฎ , I am very tepted to make a radio controlled model of one, I have downloaded the plans and it may be the next project (that will be the one after learning to fly properly  ), it has a lovely simple shape to build and loads of wing area ๐Ÿ™‚

Oddly enough I was about to post on the Sturgeon thread asking if you had seen one of these beasts before ๐Ÿ˜€
