Today (on a day off) I got up at 7am and decided to stay up, as it was a nice day and I’d just looked at the Ceefax page for GLA flight arrivals. I decided to finally get to the airport in time for the North American flight arrivals which normally all arrive around 8-9am.
I got held up in rush hour a little, so missed the Continental 764’s arrival. This was compensated for by the arrival on a beautiful morning of a Balkan Tu-154, absolutely stunning! Following closely behind was the AA 767, and after another 5 mins, the Air Canada 767.
I bumped into some German pro photographers on a Scotland airport tour, had a nice chat with a Loganair captain prior to him hopping off in his Islander and then found a new photo spot, where I met and chatted with the GLA photo meister Fred Seggie.
All in all a good long day at the airport and some nice piccies on the new digital. Here are some samples starting with the arrival of the Tupolev-154 ! 😀

Ren, Air Ecosse closed down in mid 80s and the fleet eventually stood at around 12 EMB110s, 2 Twin Otters, 1 HP Herald ( leased)
1 Learjet and SH330 and 360 aircraft. Before the demise the flagship route for us was from Dundee to Heathrow with the SH360 aircraft! Although by far the most routes were flown from ABZ. I think the only regular overseas routes were to SVG, BFS and DUB, the rest being domestic…Happy Days especially the rivalry with Loganair.

Great pics Ren, especially that Tu154! I used to work at GLA sometimes when I was employed by an airline called Air Ecosse….do you remember them? We used to fly quite a large scheduled network in Scotland using EMB110s and Twin Otters in a lovely maroon, white and gold livery.
I remember Air Ecosse from the 1980’s I think. I liked the look of the Bandeirante’s and Otter’s, were they bought by someone else like BRA or did they just close down ? I can’t remember what happened to them.

Yeah they seemed to turn off the runway a bit quicker than all the other similar sized jets I observed.
