This is going to sound silly but i am trying to find a book i read at school about 20 years ago it is really the book responsible for getting me into historic aviation and also airshows, and i was telling my niece about it (trying to educate the next generation) but i dont know the title?
The book was about a boy who liked the wellington bomber and wanted to see one only to find out there are none left and the only thing he has of one was an old airfix kit found in a rubbish dump.
But in the end he goes to an airshow and watches a display and see’s a ghost wellington flying in formation with the BBMF althought i cant remember them being referanced as this.
The cover of the book shows the ghostly wellington flying with a normal aircraft maybe the Lancaster.
Sorry if there are not more details but it was a long time ago.
Does this book ring anyone elses bell?
