Before Christmas i managed to buy a Fuji S5600 camera, And since then i have been having a little practice with it. So far i am fairly impressed with the results i have achieved and i am starting to experiment a bit more with the settings etc.
I thought it would be nice to post some and see what people think, In general i am finding i am more adventurous with the S5600 than i was with the Fuji S602 i had before it.

I’ve had a Fuji S5000 for a couple of years now, and the picture quality has always been superb. However, I can’t say the same for the camera’s controls, which can be a pain.
The on/off switch gets knocked on all the time, whether in a camera bag or on the shoulder. The settings knob also moves at any time. But the worst is the focus knob, which can come unlocked – unnoticed – and ruins the telephoto focussing.
I understand the pixels on these cameras are hexagonal, compared to round on other makes. This ‘fills’ in’ the corners which are ’empty’ on round pixels if you see what I mean. That’s what gives them such good picture quality.
Mind you, the cheaper Fuji digitals are not good at all. My lady friend, bless her, asked me to buy her digital camera for her as she is a non-techie. I bought a £100 Fuji at Tesco and had to take it back because the LCD screen could not be seen out of doors! Picture quality wasn’t up to much either.
So I ended up getting her a £100 Nikon which is superb – picture quality is about as good as my S5000.
Having mentioned the problems with my Fuji, I wouldn’t swap it for another!
Hope I haven’t sent you all off to sleep.
Bri 🙂

Nice shots…. Now they are all there.
I can’t look at that squirrel on the tree trunck without huming the Mission Impossible tune!I’ve liked all the Fuji digital cameras I have used too. I have yet to move properly into digital – I just borrow occaisionally…
Thanks, Yep they are now all there:) .
I am still learning some camera techinques, I was a little lazy with the S602 in many ways often resorting to pre-set camera modes rather than setting the shutter speeds and aperture settings myself.I am deliberately avoiding the pre-set modes now and feel i am enjoying it more, The main thing i am trying to achieve now is getting the white balance right to be able to get good quality photo’s in the Science museum and possibly Hendon.
The squirrel photo was a shot my wife spotted for me and i just took it, She definitley wants part of the glory for that one.
I should be going up to London on Good Friday depeding on the weather we either be doing a River trip or off to the museums, Either way i will take the camera.

I like them I used to have a 5500 (I think) and what impressed me most was the colour reproduction, you just can’t beat a Fuji sensor but in the end I simply had to go for the speed of an SLR. The colour is just as good…………..after I have made the right adjustments that is………….with a Fuji sensor you get what you want straight out of the box, without any fiddling.
I must admit i do have a liking for Fuji camera’s they are of great quality, And i have been able to achieve some photo’s that i really like with the 4 Fuji types i have used in the past.
Here are a few more photo’s probably the last for a bit.
Please feel free to comment on them.
