I wonder

Where that was going? I’m working at Wantage today and I’ve just been overflown by a Skyraider. Lovely sound 🙂

Big models I must admit. I never saw the two flying together.
Photo from the LMA site.

There’s a few on google as well.

Probably Tim Manna’s, saw action in Korea (forget which carrier it was on), but was sold to the French afterwards, so he is unsure what action it saw in Vietnam, if any.
No Idea where it was going though…..but it’s a nice day so who cares?

Would this be the one TFC used to operate? What a/c does Tim Manna have at present?

Depends, I quite like the sound of some of the early Axial flow engines.

Did you mean axial or Centrifugal flow?

Just had BBMF Spit & Hurri fly over heading North in a nice relaxed cruise, Head those merlins over my hedge trimmer! (which was immediately stopped!)

My guess would be Yeovilton to Coltishall and back.

I think it would have to have been en route for yeovilton as it was headed that way

It displayed at Yeovilton then landed. It went back out at the end of the flying around 1700.

There is nothing quite a nice as sitting behind a 3350 (except perhaps a Merlin ;))

Don’t you just love the sound of big, beefy piston engines? Jet engines are just noise by comparison

Indeed, a nice aircraft that makes a lovely sound.

Talking of lovely sounds, just had the BBMF fly over. 🙂

O.K not quite overhead, but to the east of us (heading for Guildford) en route from Goodwood to Conningsby I assume.

Cheers

Paul
