IAI, Europe's MBDA to cooperate on anti-ballistic missile system

Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) yesterday signed a cooperation agreement with MBDA to jointly develop an anti-ballistic missile system.
IAI will try to use the collaboration with MBDA to market the Arrow anti-ballistic missile system to European countries.
Under the agreement, IAI and MBDA will cooperation on developing new anti-missile defense systems and advanced technologies, by exploiting their accumulated know-how. IAI is a global pioneer in developing anti-ballistic missile systems. Its Arrow is the first anti-ballistic missile system to be declared operational. MBDA has developed and manufactures Europe’s only missile with anti-ballistic capabilities, the Aster Block 1.

In the coming weeks, IAI is expected to conduct the first Arrow test in the US, together with its manufacturing partner for the missile, Boeing (NYSE:BA), and the Israeli government’s main partner in the program, the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
