And so the day that every irish teenager dreads.leaving cert results day.The day before our holiday and this is when I wanted to start relaxing.I had worked very hard for these exams and I got 5 Bs and 2 Ds so i was reasonably happy but a little bit of me was dissapointed not to have gotten an A.
Anyway we had booked our flight to Alicante with Iberia in early febuary in order to get some cheaps flight and thats what we got.188 euro return and considering we had to pay an extra 200 for a direct flight to ALC for my dad who had to change his travel arrangements.
We left for Dublin at about 9.30 and made the 10 minute drive. While passing the airport parrimeter i saw the US Airways 767 which i remember becasue the paint was in very bad condition all scraped at the back.
After being dropped we made our way into a very crammed terminal. Not the best start me pusing a trolly with 5 bags while everybody else runs to area 11 for check in where there was 2 desks fro IB4195 and codeshare EI5195.A very freindly Aer Lingus agent checked us in and said that after she had got sorted she would do anything for me.What that ment I have no Idea
We through a packed secuirity area and walked onto the street a fabolous shopping are in Dublin. After walking its full lenght we went to Gate B26 where an Aer Lingus flight was wainting to depart to LHR.St.Aidan which I would later see in Alicante.I saw our A320 land from Madrid EC-HAB.At this stage we had been shifted to gate B24.The 2 pilots got off and did some shopping :S
Shortly we boared and i knew we were going to be late leaving Dublin and that didnt look good for our connection.
We soon pushed and waited behind a CSA 735 and then it was our turn. The moment I had been waitng for for 7 months. We hurrdled down 28 and were airborne.A liffy 2 Alpha departure followed and we headed towards the UK.Enroute I got a great view of jersey and Then we hugged the west coast of France which seemed like a weird route to BCN.As we approached northern Spain I saw what were like Whales in the sea but the were moving very fast.Anybody know what they are.we turned left towards Barcelona and started what felt like an endless descent. We came in over the city.I can only describe this as a absoululty magnificent apprach. It was amazing. We turned right for the ILS approach for runway 25.A very smooth landing.
The announced what gates connecting passengers should go to and Alicante wasnt announced.
we went to the Iberia desk and a very freindly Iberia lady put us onto the next flight at 8pm and gave us vouchers for a roll and drink as well as one for my dad who hadnt even travelled. So it was a few hours spotting in BCN and I have a few pics to show yous.
I got to see my first ever Easyjet 3 infact 2 737s and a A319 as well as lots of Iberias and Air Berlin dreamliner.
Ill post the BCN-ALC sector soon.Because we missed our first flight with a A320 I got on my first ever MD-88.

Nice report, although it was a shame that you missed your connection.
