Just a flight to Milan, made me think how a filthy thing Iberia has become. High fares, dirty and ricketly interiors, pay for catering, plenty of safety incidents (I had one myself. The door closure lights in the cockpit just didn´t go off and departed with the light on)….and porky class configuration. Rude stewardesses and terrible aspect of planes…..puajjjjj what a shame. We have to pay for breakfast…..I paid 280 euros for the fare……..
😡
And Six euros for that

I recently booked my flights to Palma and Iberia offered the cheapest tickets around. We have to change in Barcelona, but with savings of £30 per person and a much earlier departure time I don’t mind spending 90 mins. in Barcelona.
We depart at 6:30 am so I don’t think we’ll be that hungry at the time. Still, given the catering options Iberia now ‘offers’ I’ll ensure we have some water and munchies with us. Oh well, at least we can stuff our face in Barcelona before flying to PMI!
With regard to my general impression of Iberia, I have always preferred to fly BA, even though I’m Spanish. Iberia lacks the professionalism you would expect from a flag carrier. The captain seldom bothers to address the passengers, not even when there is an unexpected and unexplained delay. And some addresses are given in Spanish only. It all feels a bit like a charter holiday airline to be honest.

I dont think Iberia are expensive at all.My family there is 6 of us are travelling to a town just south of Alicante in august. The obvious way to go was direct with Aer Lingus but that would cost us over 2000 euro.Flying with Iberia via Barcelona we saved over a 1000.That is some difference. And that is at a reasonable time not arly or late.I havnt flown during daylight hours in a long time.Ive flown with Iberia before addmitly before money was tight and I found them quite ok.
Ill have an Iberia trip report for you in september so we can compare.
Im not doubting what you expeirenced and just find it hard to belive.

Yes, I remember the “wonderfull” Iberia catering when flying some charter airlines from Spain to Germany. Luckily most of them got rid of that nasty food.

Oh dear
I was literally (no joke) just about to book a flight to Barcelona with IB in June as they are £15 cheaper than BA – thought they were of a similar standard. After seeing that Ill pay the extra £15 thanks!!!

Yuck, Iberia isn’t home in OneWorld. They really need to do something about their reputation! Their a346 economy class only has a few tv’s, but I can imagine that these movies are propably only in Spanish! Argh, BAD.

You sure thats not just stuff you brought onboard from the supermarket?
Deary me, that is appauling.
And to think, some will dis BA’s inflight catering because of a slightly over salted salad… but this is a whole new level!
