ID of aircraft at Langley

Can anyone ID the aircraft at the top of the picture? It appears to be possibly a Grumman Widgeon or Goose in this aerial shot of Langley.

It is believed to date from between 9.1944 – 1.1946 as the picture has a couple of Douglas Bostons of the 1 Film Production Unit and they were at Langley during these dates.

It appears as though the aircraft has been stored or wfu as it appears to have no engines and tailplanes and is sort of dumped in a corner surrounded by what must be bushes.

If it is a Goose/Widgeon, does anyone know why it would be at Langley?
