Can anyone identify from what aircraft these seats in the Al Mahatta Museum in Sharjah are taken? I think they may have come from Coventry when the museum was set up some years ago. The museum’s Heron, Anson and DC-3 are fitted with passenger seats; their Dove is suspended from the ceiling, so I did not have access, the Comet is just the cockpit, and they are not from their new Auster! Thanks.

Thanks Scrooge. Every little helps, they say, even though the seats are light in terms of total weight!
I thikn we can conclude that they are Dove seats.

Definately Dove. Given that they weigh about 17lb each, the weight saving would be negligible given the normal empty weight of a Dove- though if enough other ‘stuff’ is removed I suppose it all helps.

Someone just told me they are De Havilland seats. As the museum Heron has its seats intact, maybe they are from the Dove that hangs up in the roof, inaccessible. Maybe they were removed from it to reduce weight.
Can anyone confirm that they could be Dove seats?
I hear a rumour than the museum may wish to dispose of these seats. Would anyone be interested if that happened to be the case?
