A friend of mine is looking for photos of the downward identification lights which were installed on RAF aircraft being used for night operations (Lancaster, Mosquito) to identify themselves as friendly when approaching home base.
The Mossie had three fitted under the fuselage, but not sure about the Lanc (wing undersides?).
Does anyone have photos of these lights (without their protective covers) in position? Period or ‘current’ would be fine.
TIA
Dave

Yes, some drawings and lamps pictured on the own, but nothing I can see showing them fitted on the aircraft.

Downward Identification Lamp Type C. Plenty of illustrations on the net?
