Am getting ready to leave on a really early morning flight to check out the latest really cool acquisition with a couple of my aircraft guys!
Sorry… nobody’s really come close to guessing what it is.
I will tell you this – A foreign buyer was VERY close to purchasing it as an investment, and it would have ended up disassembled in a warehouse overseas where it probably would not have seen the light of day for quite some time. I have been following this airplane for a decade and it was always waaay beyond my reach. Well , I pushed my boundaries, I reached beyond myself, and with a bit of divine intervention from the original owner… it fell into my hands!
It should be sitting on display at Fantasy of Flight by the end of this year!
Keep guessing!

Oh well, I would have rather seen it be the Mystery ship! still it will no doubt happen, just a matter of time,

The full scale replicas are likely expanded from plans rather than molds. Some of the minor structural bloopers are the sort you get from looking at a two dimensional image rather than a real example.

I have photos of the ISO containers that I was told it is then still sitting in at Fantasy of Flight in 2005/2007. No proof that they did still contain the Lanc though….
We know Kermit and Peter Jackson are friends…which leads to the question, which Lanc (if any) were used as molds for the FSM to be used in the new film?

It’s really not that hard to work out. Just use the same logic that several on here use when reporting the latest comings and goings on the UK Spitfire scene.

When I was there last week, these were the words being used about his S-38. He had been after it for years, out of reach, had a flight in it with owner and pulled off a deal.
I heard the same last week at Polk with Kermit speaking near his mustang. nice quick presentation, surprised he is now in the books for kids, why not.
