If I had It My Way…

How many of us have read the latest decision made by our nation’s defence chiefs and thought that we could make better decisions?

If you had the power to make all the decisions of how to run your nation’s air arm over the last 15-20 years, what decisions would you have changed, and why? ( I know its just pointless speculation, but still…)

For the RAF:

I would have bought more C-17s to make a full squadron.
I would have kept a small Jaguar fleet going to help preserve pilot training.
Purchased US model MC-47s instead of the hopeless Chinook HC.3
Kept the Sea Harrier flying.
Made outright purchase of the A330 tankers, and increased the buy.
Put more research into the BAe Replica project, make it a viable alternative to the F-35.
Develop indigenous UCAVs, such as the HERTI.
Kept the FOAS requirement.
Given decent provision for homes of service persons and their families.
