If One person could destroy whole Airforces, sort of….

Ok hopefully the silly headline caught your eyes,though heres something for you all to chew over, as most of you probably know – least i would hope you know, America is currently in the process of sorting out whos going to be the next President. Now i bet a few are thinking whats this got to do with this forum? Well its got me thinking about the implications of who the next – to use a tacky phrase ‘most powerful person on the planet’ (no not weight lifters)might do with the military. Now as i understand it from many a rant i’ve seen on the net when Bill Clinton took over as President he really screwed the military over, now i must stress i do not know how accurate that is but ive heard it often.

So people just what might happen should certain people be elected? Will certain aircraft programs be doomed (im looking at you future F-22 orders) ,will spending take a downturnand high tech gear sold to China, will everything take a turn for the better with increased spending on procurment and R&D.Could whole programs be ditched. It is a huge area of scope for discussion but i think theres enough here for some real issues for aviation fans. Disclaimer: I’m a Brit, don’t know much at all about American or any polotics, and havnt got a ‘favourite’ to win or a prefered choice,yet.
