Donβt run with the herd, they said. Be different, they said.
(Puts on his Kiss Me Quick hatβ¦)
I say how about the Supermarine Seagull V, or the Supermarine Stranraer.
Both magnificent examples of a bygone age β and both, unfortunately, very rare.
Never happen. Thankfully.

ooohhh..how about the entire contents of the Battle of Britain hallβ¦..or come to that the entire bomber command collectionβ¦if it had to be one, I would love to see theDefiantβ¦β¦..or the TSR2β¦.orβ¦β¦β¦ aahh sod itβ¦everything they got! But if someone said βIβll shot you, unless you choose oneβ it would probley be something with this little baby hanging on the front of it.

I would have said the Wellington as I think almost everyone in Bomber Command spent some time in one didn’t they?
Then Manonthefence mentioned the Battle. He’s right. What a tribute that would be to those crews who faced overwhelming odds in France and still gave their best….. or their all.

Umm, very difficult choice. My shortlist would have to include the Beaufort, Beaufighter, Fw 190, He 162, Sunderland, Typhoon or Wellington. Out of these, I guess I’d probably have to go with the He 162 just for sheer novelty value!
Can I open out this thread and ask what aircraft out of any museum you folks would like to see flying?

Usually yes, but as I filled the house with smoke after setting light to the garden tonight I suspect I may have to fend for myself, or find a takeaway nearby.

I would have the Bristol 188, sheer beauty but above al I would have to have the TSR2 and fly it around and around Dennis Healy’s house until he was well and truly F*****g deaf!!!!!!!!!!.
Teach those bloody Wilsonites a lesson.
You would never guess that I had just picked up a copy of Ray Sturtivants ‘British research and development aircraft, seventy years at the leading edge’ would you.
Its a terrible book because every time you open it you start weeping and dribbling on the pages, ruins its !!.

I have some pots and pans lurking about somewhere, do you think if I put them in a hanger they will evolve into a fine fighting machine?
By: DIGBY - 14th August 2003 at 21:57

By: DIGBY - 14th August 2003 at 21:44
Yak11
You are not drinking enough or lying down for long enough
I would swap evryone in hendon and I mean one for one with flying P51s just for you that way it gets them off airfields. Maybee “JANIE” got a computer type virus which hopefully will spread to all other P51s Tee Hee:D π π π

Has to be something that isn’t airworthy at the moment, so, my vote goes for the Ju88……….just ahead of the Valiant….:D
