I’ve just moved to Braintree from a ‘pleasant’ touristy village and I’m quite surprised at the attitude of local people, and I’m not a starry eyed pillock either.
1) I live in a nice quiet cul-de-sac, but the local cretins park their cars all over the place, despite having large drives and plenty of in house parking, we have decided to buy a cheapo land rover, weld railway lines to it and smash the f###### to bits, legally of course, they are such a bunch of selfish scum bags, we can’t beleive what their problem is, yesterday morning, my missus was trying to back out of the drive and some total w##### parked at the back of her while she was doing it, he looked at her as if it was her fault, what is wrong with these people.
I’ve just been to Tesco’s, while waiting to buy a packet of fags, some unshaven cluckhead and his neanderthal partner pushed in front and ordered some of those poxy lottery tickets, no please or thank you to the poor woman who had the pleasure of serving these scum bags, when I pointed this out to the poor woman, she said it was everyday business, the cretin
heard me but did nothing, obnoxious git, presumably my taxes have just paid for that.
Then we get the infamous roundabout on the way home, does anyone bother to indicate, nooooo of course not.
Some s###bag decided to go round with no indicators, am I a frigging mind reader, no way, so I stopped across the front of the ignorant b###### and told him what I thought of him, Oh shock horror, what have I done wrong, I think we are both going to buy crappy landrovers with railway lines welded to them and dish out the medicine thats overdue, or is it me!!!!

You are not alone, I share all your feelings, the selfishness of people is unbelievable, and yes, why do people not park in their drives that remain empty whilst the road is then full……….
Couldn’t agree more. One road on my route home (I go out a different way) is a slalom course. I wouldn’t mind if the morons had nowhere else to park but most of the houses in the street have replaced their front gardens with hardstandings, giving them space for three cars but one sits in the drive and two are out on the road.

True ignorance.
It seems that nowadays, there is a prevelance of ignorance in society, which was unheard of 40 years ago. I think it’s all to do with the technological changes that have taken place. Cars, Computers, and T.V. have all had an effect, making us all the more insular and uncaring. Sadly things will only get worse, as the Technology becomes more sophisticated.
Why have I come to this conclusion.
Cars have made us more independent, we lose out on social contact with other people when we travel, and this creates ignorance.
T.V. is also responsible for spreading ignorance, there is plenty of ignorant behaviour shown on T.V., and a lot of people adopt this way of thinking from watching it. Yes, T.V. can be a brainwashing form of media.
Computers are also responsible for spreading ignorance. kids no longer have to learn how to spell properly, or have a reasonable standard of English and Maths. Why bother, when the Computer does it all for you.
There has always been a certain level of ignorance in the general population, but it’s never been quite as bad as it is now,in modern times.
The truth is , we are all guilty of ignorance, no one is exempt.

Just ask them what they’ll do for a brain once King Kong wants his ar*se back ?
Works for me every time ! 😀
Reminds me of a certain sledging incident with Oz v England when (may have been Warne  ) said to Phil Tuffnell “Hey Tuffers, can I borrow yer brain, I’m building an idiot!!” 😀

The customer is always right 😀 😀 😀
Oh yes,but remember that steak you sent back has to pass through several hands before it gets back to your table,Also the amount of obnoxious persons that fall on slippy toilet floors in busy night clubs never fails to astound me;)

While i can see how annoying impoliteness can be that is thier problem not mine.As some one who has worked off and on in a customer environment and have been on the receiving end of often very rude impoliteness i rarely took it to heart, unless they aim it at my family then if they hang about until i sign out well chat about it further.I myself think if you are polite courteous and kind and bring your kids up in the same way then this shows.

Regarding your move, looks like your research wasn’t good enough.
“Cluckheads” can be found in every supermarket. Why didn’t you ask why he/she was pushing in ? Too many people,IMHO,are afraid of confrontation in public.
Every car driver thinks that every other driver is a ” insert your thaught here”
IMHO,you were having a bad day man,it happens to all of us 😎

We also have them here in some profusion in the Joberg area.
They also tend to be carrying firearms…..

Lads it’s not exclusive to the UK you know… it’s a Universal problem ….we even have them in the land of milk and honey
Thanks for confirming that Steve, I’ve just seen a reference to this thread else where on the interweb, where the author has made a comparison between the ignorant gits in the UK (as if it is exclusive to the country) and the people who frequent this forum. As he is based in New South Wales, thanks to you his observation has been blown out of the water. 🙂

Have you got a light mate?
Why is it, that when I have gone for a walk to get some exercise. On the odd occasion, a young lad or lass will ask me, ” have I got a light ”, or ” do I know what time it is ”.These seem to be two of the daftest questions, anyone could ask a complete stranger.Don’t these people have the intelligence to go out equipped.

Have to agree the age of selflessness is long gone..
What about the service you get in shops? bad mannered little sods who sit yakking to their mates rather then serve you?
Just ask them what they’ll do for a brain once King Kong wants his ar*se back ?

What about the stupid selfish yobs who walk over you rather than round you?
Gotta say these are two of my biggest pet hates.
The idiots who always want to walk into to you rather than past you seem to always be chavs. Frigging stupid or what. If they can’t even have some basic manners how on earth do they earn any money or get on in life

I have to admit that, despite being not even 30, I have the odd rant and rave about the way society is today, and that things ain’t what they used to be.

Its a great world……..
Have to agree the age of selflessness is long gone..
driving on the road these days is like a ruddy war.
What about the **** in the jeep sitting two feet from your bumper at 75mph in a line of traffic?
What about the fool who drives into the parking space you were just about to reverse into?
What about all the prats driving in a long line down the outside lane of a motorway just in case someone would make up a yard or two ?
What about the service you get in shops? bad mannered little sods who sit yakking to their mates rather then serve you?
What about the stupid selfish yobs who walk over you rather than round you?

Gentlemen, you should try living in Bradford. There arn’t many corners of our little island I’ve never been to and very few major cities and towns I’ve never seen. Believe me… Bradford is in my top 3 holes for scum, along with Bootle and Newport.
It’s unfortunate as well that this worryingly large chunk of the UK’s population will breed more and more useless, ignorant fools with no real intent or purpose in life other than, it seems, to annoy the rest of us.
Ah well… Whinge over. For now. 😀
