If we have a rotary filter can we have one for Spitfires?
Not much forum left then…

As I was using 50 ASA slide film my day was completely wasted.
I know we each have our different preferences, but I can’t believe that anybody would consider a visit to an aviation museum, even one full of eggbeaters, as ‘wasted’ simply because they weren’t able to take pictures.
Couldn’t you sit on a seat opposite one of the birds and imagine all the dramas that have taken place in its flying life? The moments of terror, exhilaration, quiet satisfaction.
If you don’t like looking at the actual birds, what joy do you get from looking at 2D images of them?
Or was it merely a figure of speech?

But why do the IHM ban the use of tripods?Last year I travelled down from the North West with the specific intention of photography only to be brusquely informed of this ban by a member of staff. As I was using 50 ASA slide film my day was completely wasted.

Horrid 😮
Can’t we have a ‘rotorwing’ filter to stop people posting this sort of filth?

Flood.
The Wessex 60 is just outside the back door of the building. The stored airframes are further away adjacent to the helipad.
Kenneth.
I was lucky enough to wander all over the storage area last year and I believe there is one left. None have been restored yet. A tail boom is on display in the hall. Sorry but I didn’t take any pictures…

Something for the rotorheads – that will upset a few of the fixed wing mob!!!;)
I guess the reserve collection was open for viewing (Wsx 60 G-ATBZ is in W&R18 as in the spares and swops area). Roll on W&R19…:D

Nice pics, Andrew! Would you happen to have noticed whether there are still any ex RDanAF S-55 lying around there, and if so, do you have any pics of those?

Yes please!!!
I really like this museum plus it’s nice to see this area represented on here…
It isn’t too cramped and is not that dark either…!
They have had some luck with various Lottery applications and it shows.
I spend one weekend a year helping out at helidays (not arm waving) which in turn benefits the museum and other charities. It is a good weekend and is like no other. Also the VAC awarded a restoration trophy to the Bell 47 held there…
