II./JG 3 fighter Ace – Helmut Tiedmann

Hello all

This is my first ever post so hello to all. I’m Ron and I’m from Belgium. I’m looking for some information and pictures of Oblt. Helmut Tiedmann. Tiedmann fought in the Battle of France and Battle of Britain and got 7 air victories before he got shot down in August of 1940. He was taken POW and was probably sent to Canada.
I’ve found some pictures of his crashed plane online but that’s about it. I wonder if someone has got any more pictures of him, really curious how this ace looked like.
My grandfather got to know him long time after the war as Helmut was a salesman for some firm. My grandfather’s memory ain’t that good anymore so he couldn’t tell me much more about him. I probably met Helmut myself in the 80s, but I don’t remember. The only thing I remember is getting some of his medals from him but I was a little kid at the time so I don’t recall much of that period.
Here’s a link to my facebookalbum, there are some pics of the plane and some pics of the medals I got from him.
would be great to learn more about him, what happened to him after he got captured, what he did afterwards and when he passed away. I would be surprised if he was still with us to be frank but it would be awesome if he is. But I doubt it. Or any contactinfo to his relatives in Germany. Any help is more than welcome.
Thanks in advance. here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150552697929367.395865.661479366&type=1&l=6baa19bc92
