There seems to be a new opportunity for some armchair flying. Il-2 Birds of Prey has been released last week, and it’s looking sooo nice.

Interesting. Any particular cons of the game?
I just found it all a bit fiddly, and seeing anything over 1000 (of any unit) on the air speed loses a bit of cred!
On the plus side, the rendition of Manston looked quite nice – although I don’t think the concrete runway existed in 1940.:)
I’d suggest that if you can, get a demo version. I’d probably be a bit disappointed if I’d bought it purely on the experiences of the PC franchise. The free demo for PS3 is available through the PS3 online store (about a 1GB download), and I’m sure others will be available through the magazines etc.

You might get a better response from the Flight Sim board here

Had a go at the demo on the PS3 last week. A valiant effort, but I doubt I’ll part with the cash (maybe later when it’s come down in price by a fair margin), just not quite right for me.
Shame they never got round to the BoB version of the PC sim.
