New to all this flight sim malarkey so please be gentle with me.
Just bought IL2 FB and installed on PC. When I try to play I get a blue window centre screen telling me to alter my screen resolution to 1280×1024. It also has a message saying 1. To clear Message and 2. To disable message. being an absolute technophobe can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to correct it please.

You’ll have lots of fun once you get into the swing of it.
I’ve just moved on from FB to Pacific Fighters (Newer development from the same people).
So far, in my first campaign I’ve flown six sorties as a F/Sgt out of Singapore in the desperate days when the Japanese were about to take it.
Me and my Hurricane have accounted for two Zekes and an Oscar, winning the Defence Medal in the process.
Unfortunately I’ve written off five Hurricanes

Seems kind of strange Kev. I have Forgotten Battles and never had a problem running it in 1024×768.
In the Forgotten Battles folder in the program menu Start>Programs>UBISOFT>Forgotten Battles you will find a Setup utility where you can specify the resolution. Try that. Good Luck.

Right click on your desktop and choose the settings tab across the top of the dialog box and change your screen resolution to 1280 x 1024 and then try to play the game again.
