Lots of options at the moment if you want to play online get a copy of Forgotten Battles, the Aces Expansion Pack (AEP) and when you are done download the latest patches. Patches is a bit of an inaccurate name for them they are updates more than patches because quite frankly there is very little wrong with the game. You will need Patch 2.01 and 2.04 to bring it up to the latest incarnation. Bear in mind that Pacific Fighters is already hitting the shelves in some countries (Germany I think) and although it is designed to load into FB/AEP I do not know if it will be inter-compatible after this point. Then of course Battle of Britain will be out next year or the year after. I can’t really advise about which you should get because I suppose with everything that is available now it could get quite expensive.

I had CFS3 on my hard drive for …….oh……..I don’t know. About 20 mins. Compared to IL2, Any IL2 (Forgotten Battles, AEP, the orriginal even) CFS3 is a steaming pile poo. P1ss poor graphics, flight model, interface, you name it, IL2 is a quantum leap in quality compared to CFS3. You can’t play it online because there are very few people playing it. Plenty have a copy, usually bundled with a bit of hardware but nobody in their right mind would by a copy of Bill Gates finests combat simulator while: a) they have half a brain cell, b) they know about IL2 c) a combination of a and b. I’m not criticising your choice if you did not know about IL2 then you are not to blame but do yourself a favour. Boycot MSCFS3. If I haven’t already said it, its poo compared to IL2. The latest version is Forgotten Battles and the AEP addon plus the 2.04 patch. Pacific Fighters (the latest in the IL2 franchise) will be out soon and Battle of Britain (another IL2 follow on) is slated for next year. You will not be dissapointed.
