ILS

Hi,

Many of you talk of using the ILS in FS – few questions, does FS02 have it and if it does how do I use it,

I’m guessing it don’t have one – alike it doesn’t have an FMC,

I’m just constructing a small tutorial which I’ll post on here soon.

Thanks very much, i’ll look forward to it to confirm what Tom said above – I had a go last night and I think it worked – ish (my fav suffix or prefix – find them words funny as suffix has a prefix :diablo: – ignore my ramblings  ) I got some sort of beeping and it was nose diving quite a bit – did’nt feel as though I had control but after my input on the trim it sorted itself out.

I think FS02 does have it . To use it, tune the ILS frequency into your ‘Nav 1’ radio and make sure that you are in NAV mode (not GPS). When approaching the airport and on an intercept heading (i.e. you’re going towards the airport ), press the APPR/APP button on the autopilot panel and the aircraft should intercept and fly the glideslope/localiser.

This is my understanding and this is how i fly it, although somebody may give a better explanation.

Tom
