Decided to give it a miss due to poor weather forecast, a mate went and said it took him 4 hours to do 2 miles. Traffic management was a joke, only one entrance and one hi vis puppet in charge! I gather to organisors well underestimated the numbers, although ticket pre sales were maga and should have given them warning but I bet they are are happy to keep the money.Seems they didn’t want to spend on traffic management and policing. And £6.50 for a deathburger!.Seems the trick was get there well early, like 9am, for a show that started at 1pm. Looking forward to Dunsfold to see the Vulcan, although getting out of there was a palaver last year.
More complaints here…

True to form almost every airshow gets bad press because those going do not like the traffic, or the hawkers and the price of the snacks seems to hurt also, always makes me think back to Finningley airshow all those years ago, there was still horrendous traffic trying to get in and out, hawkers even then were in your face though I admit not quite as bad as these days, and the food/tea vans had there own special way of making 2/6 into a pound, never understood how they managed that but not to worry, we brought our own picnic, same as we do today and made it a family day out rather than a group of strangers choosing to go to the same place.
Lessons to be learned.
1, Traffic…..Sir you are the bloody traffic.
2, Hawkers.. Can be ignored.
3, Burgers….Don’t buy them, they always smell like wet nappies to me so I find that an easy rather than queasy one.
4, It’s a family day…..make sure you take advantage of that.

I enjoyed it. Left Deal at 9 and was in the show by 9.45. Great displays given the weather conditions.
I didnt witness the alleged mile long cues for the toilets.
Left At 5 and home by 6!

As I read more and more, actually totalling tens rather hundreds let alone thousands, of disgruntled and angry posts, many are from those who left late, anyway. This does not excuse the chaotic mismanagement of the traffic but I find some of the posts less than impressive.
And certainly apart from the wind, the weather was a great deal better than I have experienced at many other shows, and the forecasts were accurate as well.
