because my wife didn’t know what to get me for an aniversary present until she considered my love of aviation. Then she went out and bought me a gift voucher for a Tiger Moth flight. What a lovely lady 🙂 So now I can’t wait for August 12 and am praying for good weather. I’ve only been wanting to do this for about 47 years and she asks if I like my present, a bit like asking if ducks float on water.

RIght now I’ve remembered how to post photos again let’s see if we can get some more on here. It would appear that, for some reason, I can’t post the photos from my camera but I can post the ones from my son’s

Nice one, flying open cockpit is a great experience. I was given a flight in a Stearman a while back and loved it! 😎

I took a flight in a Tiger Moth from Sywell a couple of years ago and enjoyed it to the extreme. bore everyone with the inflight video showing me taking the controls 😀

Yes I did, unfortunately that horrible thing called work got in the way. Please forgive me for swearing on a weekend.

Mothery
You missed the Moth Club weekend at Old Warden on 11/12 June this year then?
You can get a ride in all sorts of DH products and all in the aid of charity.
Look out for this event in 06.
The other option is – go to Old Warden on a display day ( join the SVAS beforehand so you get in for half price) and buy a few guess the height tickets. I’ll let you into a secret – not many people enter so you stand a good chance of a Tiger or Magister ride after the display.

Oh believe me, I fully intend to. I’ll probably be boring anyone who’ll listen for about 6 months afterwards. I can’t wait, just hope the weather will be kind though.

Must be good to be the pilot for these gift flights. Lots of blokes acting like 6 year olds and beside themselves with excitement. Downsides are probably 6yo & flying blokes regularly chuck up and b) when the excited bloke turns out to weigh twice the a/c payload!
Mike, there’s those that HAVE flown in a Tiger, and those that haven’t. Welcome to the exclusive group. 😉 Enjoy.

My wife has similar insight. Aren’t we lucky? 🙂
Yep. I might moan about my other half on here but mostly it’s in jest. I wouldn’t trade her for two of some women.

See, sometimes good things do happen. Take it you aren’t working that day?;)

I’m on nights the night before but I finish at 0630 and I’ve got the first slot at 0930, it also helps that I only live 10 minutes drive from the airfield. So I shall have my flight then go home and sleep as I’m back on nights that night at 2130. At least I’ll go to sleep with a smile on my face. 🙂

You’ll enjoy it – fantastic experience.
I was lucky enough to fly in one just over a year ago, and also take the controls for about 5 minutes – the first aircraft I have ever been in control of. Still can’t remember most of the 2 hour drive home afterwards as I was in a daze!
Hope the weather is good for you – Enjoy
