Hello to all,
Can any forum members assist with images of ex-RAF and ex-FRADU Hunter T.7 XL565?
What I am looking for is images of the aeroplane whilst it was in store at Closterworth and Kemble during the 1990s, and/or at its current home at Bruntingthorpe, to feature on my FRADU Hunter web-site. Full credit would be given, and any requests for links to be present etc. would be carried out.
Naturally, if anyone has images of her during her stint with FRADU (Nov83 to Feb 84!) I’d love to see them
Kind regards, and thanks for your time.

Yep, could’ve been 1982 although we did maintain an RAF Task in one hangar whilst the USAF were there mainly doing Navy hunters, Jetstreams, Chipmunks etc etc.
Whilst in the other hangars were the lovely A-10’s……

YES! That is XL565 – the remnants of its 4FTS colours as ’89’ gives it away!
I have a slight query with the date however, as according to my BARG notes XL565 was noted in service with FRADU from October 1983 (my mistake in the original post) and 5MU had lost its final Hunter (T.8C XF358) earlier that year? Based on that information therefore, November 1982 would appear more likely?
Happy to be proved wrong!

Stringbag, this was taken at the Kemble MU in November 1983 and although the number is slightly obscured it could be a contender for 565?

Hello,
Although it wouldn’t fit into the FRADU site specificially I’d still like to see it!
The information you have given alone has helped somewhat with its service history 🙂

Have Many of 563,564 and 566. 565 must have been bashful. But do have a nice larger size negative of 565 with 208 Sqn Luqa 4/65 I could scan & convert to positive image, if of use to you…Does not seem to meet your specific request, so I’m asking first.
Joe.
