Just an idea that popped into my head.
Their current liever rocks… but I thought red engines would give it a brighter, sharper look. I changed the main titles from flat black to charcoal grey and “The Spirit of Australia” script from grey to the same gold the tail colour is lined with.
as I say, just an idea, no serious intent or thought put into it.

Sandy, please don’t knock yourself out. If it’s too much work, then don’t worry about it.
I may be wrong George but i think the Qantas 744 fleet are RR, except for the three second hand 744’s they acquired from Thai which were GE’s
Steve, you are absolutely correct in regards to QF’s standard 747-400’s, although I believe the second hand examples that are GE powered are from Malaysia, not Thai. At any rate, QF’s six or so 747-400ER’s are in fact GE powered, as I mentioned before. Seems to me with recent orders, including A330’s, that QF is starting to favor the General Electric engine over Rolls Royce, perhaps.

The only problem with the red engines is that there is no way to distinguish between the standard 744 with GE’s and 744ER. Currently, the 744ER have white cowlings to distinguish themselves with all other models having the grey cowlings. I’m sure you can come up with a way to distinguish those, however. Are you able to reproduce Wunala and Nalanji dreaming on your templates, Sandy? If so, how about a 744ER in Nalanji colours?
I’d need to get some sort of reference graphics of the artwork.
Preferably a copy of the artwork used. But I’ll see what I can do

Well Imitation is suposed to be a form of flattery.
Exactly what I said in your post showing revised LH livery……although that was with regards to the olde United livery.

A guy I know who designed the new TNT livery was very flattered when Gulfair imitated the design

Well if you look at it that way, so many airlines copy each other. 🙂
I wouldn’t argue against that comment in the slightest! It would take all day to list those that do 😉

I’m sure you won’t like me for this comment Bmused..it is meant in a light hearted way though…..
Having done LH based on BA, you’ve now done QF based on Virgin’s old livery 😉
Have to admit though that the airlines with a splash of colour on the engines do stand out more.

I quite like it. Its amazing how by just changing the colur of the engines you change the look totally.
