What happened to the group that were trying to restore 2 tempests and then got charged with fraud then got cleared?

I’m under the impression that the area of the hangar in which the Victor is to be restored will become the same area it is eventually displayed in once the restoration is complete. This would mean that nothing would have to be moved in the existing display space to make room for it..
As for the Shack,I’ve heard recently that there’s been some to’ing and fro’ing regarding the decision on it’s future,so it’s possible she won’t have her wings hacked off afterall. This would be very good news indeed,if it proved to be true!

Although the Victor isn’t included in the published floor plan,it WILL apparently be included.I’ve heard that it will go over to the conservation area of the new hangar for some long term restoration work, and will then be found space in the new building.
I certainly hope that’s the case.

I think one of the guys at Imperial is now involved with Tempest 2 – they have a Morane Saunier Parasol type, a Harvard IIB and wait for it a Sturmovik!! or maybe two….

Yep 5 left and not 1 is inside yet but Duxford and Cosfords should both soon be inside.

too bad……

Another group that boasted of great things and then fell apart. Shame about that victor thought.. she deserved better than being hacked apart like that. And dont even get me started on that twit with the lincoln!!!

I don’t think Imperial ever had their hands on the Tempests though. These are (were?) owned by Tempest Two Limited, previously at Gamston, now elsewhere in Lincolnshire I believe.

This group also tried to buy an ex BDRT Victor K2 in about 1998 for a rebuild to ground running condition.

I think the sale went pear shape and the Victor was scrapped with the nose section preserved.

they had the B-25 from coventry and the Lincoln fuz – now rotting away at sandtoft – officially went into receivership – spoke to receiver didnt know about the aircraft – chap at sandtoft says he owns (cant dispute am sure he does) not up for sale and will restore….

B-25 was at coventry on u/c with engines to one side and unlike bedsheet bomber, gorgeous georgeanne (for it is she) is now parted from centre section, sitting in water exposed to sea air, very very sad.
