I’m in need of a tight close-up photo of the aft emergency exit (the one aft of the wing) on a -900ER that clearly shows the latch handle. Ideally I’d love a nice 90 degree perpendicular shot, but I’d take any close-up I can get. Nothing I’ve found online shows what I need (for purposes of doing an illustration) in enough detail to be of use.
If you have, or can get such a photo and are willing to share, I’d be most grateful. You can email me directly at jrh-at-pemtel-dot-net
Thanks!

What’s the story with the 739ER…looks like it might be a white elephant like the 764!!!
The 900ER compliments the 737 family by allowing an airline to have that little bit more capacity, without having to buy a whole new aircraft type, should they need it.
It would best be described as a specialist model in a versatile family of aircraft. It’s purpose is not to be a mainstream model or a milk cow, so to speak.

I believe they’ve already built more of them than they did the 767-400ER. I wouldn’t call it a white elephant. It might not ever be the best selling 737 variant, but it’s gained a respectable customer base thus far. It’s an airplane that needs very specific requirements from an airline to be worth buying or leasing. In effect, it’s replaced the 757-200 in Boeing’s lineup.

I don’t think there are any 900ERs in Europe, so I hope Bmused’s contact is from the states or Asia!
That indeed he is, with a good mate at a Continental MX base 😉

Many thanks. A telephoto shot from a distance would be okay. No need to have to get right up close to it. I just need more or less a full frame shot of just that door. It’s only found on the -900ER though.
Tks!

You’ll need someone at a maintenance base for this I suspect.
I know a couple, but they rarely get 737NGs in there.
Oooh, I think I’ve just thought of someone who might be able to extend my reach.
Gimme a couple of days 🙂
