The passenger just above the red wing light looks ever so excited!

I assume you mean wing tip light as no winglet is shown in close up picture. But yes they do look excited

I’m just relieved that everybody got off the aircraft safely, the incident looks to have been well dealt with.

Thanks for the link, lbaspotter. 🙂

Hi

Tonights local BBC news programme, Look North has the bmi A319 incident at LBA as there main headline story.

The aircraft in question was G-DBCI and was operating the BD412 service from London Heathrow. The aircraft suffered 4 punctured tires on landing and ended up blocking the airports main runway 32/14 for several hours.

You can watch here.

I was considering heading up to LBA with my camera as well. Glad I didn’t now!

At least it’s something a little different to my last bmi delay flying LHR-LBA. We were two hours late because some bright spark ‘forgot’ to disable the emergency slide when they opened the door on the previous sector. You can imagine what happened! I was happy though… I just sat in the bmi lounge for another couple of hours and drank them out of a few more beers! 🙂
