A while ago i saw reports on the news that in the upcoming federal budget the defence budget would be increased. the treasurer was tight lipped on the amount of increase but said that defence was top of the priorities for the moment.
it the went to a interview with some guy (i can’t remember names)who said that the budget should be increased to 2.5% of GDP annualy.
some questions.
will the increase just cover the cost of deploying overseas or will it be for equipment?
how much will 2.5% actually be an increase of?
Can Australia afford the increase?
How will our neighbors react Indonesia and the always annoyed Malaysia with the ever cuddly Dr Mahteir Muhammed(sorry if i got the name wrong but you get the jist) for some reasno he seems to have a dislike of the Australian goverment but a real like for Australian tourist’s
