Indian A320's

Hi,

I seen a pic in airliners.net of and Indian Airlines A320 in the new colours here http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1011233&TopOfYest=yes

And i was wondering. Why does the main gear need extra wheels?

Thanks,
Dan

First time I’ve ever seen such an A320. My question then is how much money did it cost to make the necessary modifications to accomodate the extra set oif wheels?

Its not the first time… when IC ordered A320s in the late 80s they also had the same gear modifications. And i dont think it would warry the prices too much.

…and it also gives them more braked wheels so they can stop on short runways without overheating the brakes, therefore needing a longer turnaround time while they cool.

Apparently, i think its because the A320’s are used into airfields thats taxiways arent as strong as places like Mumbai…with the extra wheels, it spreads the weight or something

Nice shot 😀
