Indo Israel relations – HAL bags deal

Bhubaneswar, January 27: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) has bagged a multi-billion contract from Israel beating US and China in the race, sources in the company told The Financial Express. The papers regarding the contract would be signed some time next week, the sources said.
The HAL chairman, NR Mohanty, who was here on Sunday, though confirmed this but refused to give the details of the contract. Stating that revealtion of the name of the country and the financial details of the contract would hamper the interest of both the HAL and the awarding country, he said “ wait till next week, everything will be public”. PSU would convert the Boeing 737 passenger aricrafts into cargo carriers. Particularly, the ageing aricrafts would be converted for the purpose of cargo transportations

Previously,Israel also selected the DRDO Lakshya target drone over competitors.
