Indo-Russian Alliance…..

The United States confirmed recentley that it has cleared the way for Israel to sell India its advanced “Phalcon” airborne early-warning radar system. The aircraft will be brand-new llyushin 11-7TD transports powered by the PS-90A engine, Beriev will fit out and flight-test the aircraft and this should be an interesting project with Russian aircraft,Israeli radar and Indian software programming .

A surprised project in the pipeline is the proposed partnership of the 5th Gen fighter. Sukhoi is currently producing SU-30MKI for India and a licence has already been negociated and signed but in an unprecendented announcement it has said it will offer HAL participation in the project based around its S-37 Berkut!!
The Russian-Indian collaboration has alreday been realised with the Brahmos anti-ship missile and with Admiral Gorshkov on the way along with a squad of Mig-29K naval fighters. If i were China & Pakistan i would seriously think about upping the stakes in the sub-continent arms race.

Another project i heard about last year were the rumblings of a detailed Integrated Missile defence system based on Russias S-300PMU variants!! (the best in the world!!), this would incorporate the Akash SAM and the Green Pine radar from Israel but since then no news….anybody know anything??

For Russia this is an ideal situation becuase India is a long and trusted friend, and that 80% of Indian arms are of Soviat origin. Also Russia is in need of hard currency, For India it will learn more about the processes in mass produced technological goods and technological nohow being shared.

Personally i’m in favour of this partnership but how can America sit by and watch this happening??…….
