Just collected a couple of inert 1000lb bomb warheads for Highland Aviation Museum. There a a load more inert warheads awaiting disposal.
We were told that, due to changes in bombing strategy and the increased use of smaller smart weapons, that these were the last 1000 pounders to be dropped at the range concerned.
If any aircraft museums are interested in acquiring inert warheads, please pm me from your museum website and I will pass on contact details.
It will require a drive to the north of Scotland to collect the warheads, but it is a bonnie drive and there are some cracking distilleries close by. Appropriate paperwork will be provided with the inert warheads.
