Hi,
By the way, TCX’s brief flirtation with the deli bag was a short term cost cutter after 911 had kicked us in the ging gangs.
I had the deli bag on a flight with TXC (then JMC) last year inbound from Mahon (MAH). It was very good :D.

I have eaten hundreds of those over the last few months and still enjoy them as much as the first. I also think our hot breakfast is the best airline meal in the world. When I worked for Virgin the standard of food was very high in all the classes but if I had to chose I’d pick a TCX meal anyday!

Steady now folks
From one who knows there not all that bad.If you come out the charter league most of all the main carriers who supply first and buisiness class meals to there passengers request a very high standard of meal.
And in many cases the flight catering companies who supply these have specialised chefs that concentrate purely on that customer.
Gone are the days of the savoury snack and the afternoon tea that used to grace the shuttle on its daily flights from GLA -LGW LHR replaced by the Deli Bag.
So have others tried the deli bag option (jmc)
And as the airlines try to compete with costs it this side of the industry that has to adopt a more innovative methods of trying to suite both types of customers.
Regards
AW

The best I’ve ever had was on BA when I was flying out to Philadelphia in December last year. Lovely lasagna, went down like a treat! The worst was on a MyTravel DC-10 coming back from Lyon last year it contain string beans which had been boiled to hell!!!

Back in 1984, I flew on an Air Canada 767 Toronto-Saskatoon and found a bug my fruit cocktail. I asked the f/a if she could identify this particular piece of fruit. She took the meal away and none was replaced. Not that I would have eaten it anyway.

Hi,
I have not really had a bad airline meal. My best was probably on Thomas Cook Airlines last month which was a Chicken Dijonnaise served with veg and potato wedges. Very nice. 😀
Thanks

I’ve been so fortunate with inflight meals. None have been particularly disgusting.
My Thai report said that I thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese style pork on the outbound flight. It didn’t tatse like airline food and was of extremely high quality.
The British Airways All Day Deli range is not something I’m overly keen on, although the food is first class stuff. Since I very fairly eat all these random vegetables (which I’ve never heard of) in a wrap, I’m sometimes put off.

Hi,
The best meal I ever had was on KLM. It was a “South African Malay Curry” coming back from JNB on the 747-400 :D.

I would hardly say any airline food is memorable, cause their all okay but I wouldnt exactly give them a high rating.
THe worst one I ever tried was in 1997 on Monarch from Luton – Gran Canaria – it was supposed to be chicken and something else but it tasted like something else and that put me off airline food for quite a long time. I usually but a meal deal at boots and eat it on the plane as I would rather eat that than what is served on board.
